Care Instructions

Cheongsams are crafted from delicate fabrics including silk, cotton linen, brocade, and often feature intricate embroidery details. Gentle, proper care will preserve the garment’s structured fit, exquisite details, and extend its wear life.

1.Hand Wash (Recommended Method)

Water Temperature: We recommend using cold or lukewarm water only. High water temperatures can damage fabric fibers, resulting in shrinkage, color fading, or distortion of the garment.
Detergent: Please use a mild detergent to clean your cheongsam. For mulberry silk garments, do not use soap, laundry powder, or standard liquid laundry detergents. Silk will fade when exposed to alkaline chemicals. We recommend using a gentle body wash with cold water for light, careful hand washing.
Washing Steps: Submerge your cheongsam gently in water, add a small amount of detergent and mix evenly. Clean the garment by gently pressing with your hands only. Do not rub vigorously, scrub with a brush, or wring out the fabric. After soaking for 5 to 10 minutes, remove the garment and rinse thoroughly until all detergent residue is gone.

2.Machine Wash (Thick Cotton Linen Fabric Only, No Embroidery or Frog Buttons)

Place the cheongsam in a mesh laundry bag to prevent tangling and abrasion during the wash cycle. Select your washing machine’s gentle or delicate cycle, and use cold water for the entire process to minimize fabric damage.

Important Note: Cheongsams with embroidery, frog buttons, or made from silk or brocade fabrics must not be machine washed, to avoid damage to the garment’s craftsmanship and fabric.

3.Drying Instructions

Removing Excess Moisture: Gently press the cheongsam between clean, soft towels to absorb excess water from the garment. Never wring out the fabric, as this will distort the garment’s fit and shape.
Drying: Lay the cheongsam flat on a clean towel, or hang it on a hanger with wide shoulders in a cool, well ventilated area to air dry naturally. Avoid direct sunlight, which can cause fabric fading and fiber brittleness.
